Uncut’s first get-together of 2016 will take place on Thursday 28th January at 7.30 pm in the Cellar Bar of the City Gate, since the building shenanigans at the Phoenix are ‘ongoing’. We have not one but two local luminaries with recent collections to sample. Helen Evans will treat us to the literal (and metaphorical) thrills and qualms of flight in her ‘Only By Flying’, just out from Happenstance, while Graham Burchell (after some spectacular competition success) will introduce ‘Kate’ (Indigo Dream) and explain exactly what he means by ‘Cottage Pi” (forthcoming). Fingers crossed that Graham survives the Outback and fights off jet lag.

There are 10 open mic slots allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and booked through Alasdair here on Facebook, on a.t.paterson@exeter.ac.uk or by phone at 07783 734523. Admission still only £5 (£3 concessions and open mic performers), start around 7.30pm.
