Uncut Poets with Anna Selby & Rebecca Fenton – Exeter Phoenix – Thursday 28th May 7.30pm

May’s Uncut Poets features two London-based poets, Anna Selby and Rebecca Fenton.

Anna’s chapbook, The Burning, was published by Salt Books in 2013. Her work often explores our connection with water and shows the influence of Eastern European poetry. Her poetry-dance collaborations tour nationally, and she is an organiser of Poetry Parnassus. She is Literature and Spoken Word Programmer at the Southbank Centre.

In addition to being a performance poet with poems published by the likes of Bloomsbury, Rebecca Fenton is the founder of wordPLAY London, an eclectic spoken word night. In her day job, she works on commissioning and producing exclusive multicast audio productions for Audible Originals.

Terrible cheese jokes are apparently a strong possibility. The evening will be presented by Liz Adams and Alasdair Paterson and there will be 10 open mic slots of 5 minutes each; these can be booked by emailing, Facebooking or phoning Alasdair (07783 734523). Admission is the usual £5 (£3 open mic and concessions). Since this is the last Uncut to be held in the Black Box before its summer makeover, there may be a chance to collect a souvenir scrap of black before you leave.
